Quality & inspection

Measure it. Trace it. Prove it.

Quality is treated as a production system — not a final sorting activity. ORM builds inspection, traceability, documentation and corrective-action controls into the manufacturing route according to the risk and requirements of each program.

01 / Metrology

Micro-precision needs evidence.

Critical dimensions are verified with the measurement system appropriate to tolerance, geometry and risk.

CMM / DIMENSIONAL

Coordinate measurement

CMM inspection can be used for complex geometry, GD&T verification, mounting interfaces and high-value dimensional characteristics. Climate-controlled metrology environments and Hexagon / ZEISS-class systems may be specified where the program requires them.

FAI

First Article Inspection

Before serial production is released, first-article packages can map drawing characteristics to measured results, material records and process approvals so the production baseline is documented.

SURFACE / HARDNESS

Finish & mechanical verification

Surface roughness profilometry, Rockwell/Vickers hardness testing and application-specific verification help confirm finish, heat-treatment outcome and structural requirements.

±0.005 mmMachining tolerances achievable on selected geometries, materials and controlled processes.
FAIDrawing characteristic verification before production release when required.
CMMComplex dimensional and GD&T inspection for critical interfaces.
Digital recordsInspection results and supporting documentation organized by program.
02 / Traceability

Know where the material came from.

For critical programs, material identity and production history can follow the part from raw stock through shipment.

MATERIAL IDENTITY

Heat numbers & lot control

Raw material can be controlled through heat numbers, lot identification, mill test certificates and serialized or batch-level records according to customer requirements.

MTC / CHEMISTRY

Material documentation

Mill certificates, alloy specifications, chemistry and mechanical-property records can be linked to incoming material and retained with the program documentation package.

PART MARKING

Laser etching & identification

Where required, part numbers, lot codes, serial identifiers or customer-defined markings can be laser etched or otherwise permanently applied for downstream traceability.

03 / Process control

Quality gates from incoming to final.

The objective is to prevent a defect from moving downstream — and to react quickly when a process shifts.

Incoming inspectionMaterial identity, quantity, condition and critical incoming requirements verified before release.
In-process inspectionDefined checks at machining, forming, molding, welding or finishing stages.
Final inspectionDrawing, cosmetic, assembly and packaging requirements verified before shipment.
Release documentationInspection records, certificates and customer-required documents packaged with the lot.
PPAP

Production approval support

PPAP documentation can be structured for programs requiring dimensional results, material records, process controls, samples and formal production approval.

WELD / NDT

Weld validation

Dye-penetrant and other NDT routes can be specified where weld integrity requires additional validation beyond visual and dimensional inspection.

COATING / PLATING

Finish validation

Plating and coating thickness, adhesion, appearance and application-specific requirements can be verified using suitable methods including XRF where appropriate.

CALIBRATION

Measurement discipline

Gauges and inspection devices are managed through defined calibration status, due dates and traceable records so expired equipment is not used for product acceptance.

NCR

Containment & non-conformance

Suspect product is identified, segregated and dispositioned through a controlled non-conformance process rather than being allowed to flow unnoticed.

8D / RCA

Corrective action

Recurring or significant issues can trigger root-cause analysis, 8D-style corrective action, verification of effectiveness and documented closure.

04 / Standards

No borrowed badges.

Programs may require aerospace, automotive, medical or customer-specific documentation and process controls. ORM structures the manufacturing and quality plan around the requirements of the actual job and the qualified facility executing it.

Certification policy

AS9100D, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 and other certification marks are displayed publicly only when a current certificate exists for the facility and scope performing the work. For supplier qualification, current certificates and supporting documentation can be provided when applicable.
